Concrete provides large spans to open up the living areas, and sliding glass panels allow the interior and exterior spaces to combine.

Other environmentally-friendly features include access by an inclinator rather than car, water-cooled air-conditioning to reduce the power load, rainwater recycling from roofs, waste recycling and landscaping using local species which require minimal water.
Materials have been selected to provide a comfortable environment, for example darker-coloured stone and shady planting to reduce glare from the sun.
